Punjab: 100 students of Patiala Medical College test Covid positive
Coronavirus Punjab Update: Amid rising cases of coronavirus in Punjab, about 100 students of Government Medical College in Patiala tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday. Patiala administration held an emergency meeting and asked all students who are staying at the hostel to vacate their rooms immediately.
It is worth mentioning here that this is the second education institution in Punjab that has turned out to be a Covid hotspot. Last week, as many as 93 students of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, also in Patiala, had tested positive for Covid-19.

The coronavirus cases in Punjab have been rising rapidly. On Monday, Punjab reported one Covid death and 419 fresh cases, taking the state’s tally to 6,05,922.
The death toll in the state has increased to 16,651. The number of active cases in Punjab has increased to 1,741 while it was 1,369 a day before.
Of fresh cases, Patiala reported 143 new cases, followed by 58 in Pathankot, 57 in Ludhiana, and 30 in Mohal, the health department stated while giving coronavirus update about Punjab.
