Price of LPG cylinder up again; check revised rates
New Delhi, May 1: As the month of May starts, the common man is hit by yet another strike of inflation. The price of LPG gas cylinders has increased with the start of a new month. This time there is an increase in the rate of 19 kg and 5 kg cylinders. On May 1, state-owned oil companies raised the price of LPG cylinders by Rs 104 per cylinder. However, only the price of commercial gas cylinders has increased, while domestic LPG rates have remained unchanged. In the national capital, 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder now costs Rs 2,355 per cylinder. While a 5 Kg cylinder will now cost Rs 655 in Delhi. Notably, the price of a commercial gas cylinder was raised by Rs 268.50 on April 1 last month. The price of the commercial cylinder in Kolkata has reached Rs 2,455, from earlier Rs 2351.5. The price of a commercial gas cylinder in Mumbai has been increased by Rs 102, talking rate to Rs 2307 from Rs 2205. Apart from sharing experiences aimed at ensuring the safe and long-term use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), oil marketing companies will work to increase customer enrolment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a popular social inclusion initiative. Every BPL household receives a free LPG connection under the scheme. -PTC News
