'We are determined to skill the youth of Punjab through Skill India', says Harsimrat Badal
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) inaugurated in Mansa, Bathinda Harsimrat Kaur Badal Union Minister of Food Processing Industry inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) in Mansa and Bathinda on Saturday to encourage the youth of Punjab in finding skills and creating a better future for themselves and their families. We have heard of Digital India, StartUp India, but now Skill India has taken up as the latest way to provide ways to develop basic yet novel skills to the youth of the nation. First time in Punjab, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra will be giving 600 different types of skilled training to the youth. Some of them are - micro irrigation, home health care, bakery, home appliance repair, compute training and others. 'People who couldn't take studies forward after a certain class, or couldn't study at all will be provide sufficient guidance and skill from these kendra. You don't need a certain certificate or degree to learn a skill here, all you need is immense passion to help your families back home along with contribute the better of the nation,' Harsimrat Kaur Badal said while speaking in Mansa. 'The courses are provided starting 2.5 months to 6 months, a certificate is also provided at the end of the training. We guarantee you a job after training or if needed, help to set up your own business,' Harsimrat Badal added. Vocational training needs to be made aspirational to transform India into the skill capital of the world. In line with the same, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) intends to establish visible and aspirational Model Training Centres (MTCs) in every district of the country. NSDC is the implementation agency for the project. These training centres will be state-of-the-art Model Training Centres, called as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra ( PMKK ).
