Power crisis in Punjab deepens, three units of Talwandi Sabo Power Plant closed
Unit of Talwandi Sabo Power Plant closed amid Power crisis in Punjab: In a major setback to the Punjab government, amidst a power shortage in Punjab, the units of power plants in the state are being shutdown day by day.
Meanwhile, another unit of Talwandi Sabo Power Plant has been reportedly shut down.

As per information received, three units of the Talwandi Sabo power plant at village Banawali in Mansa district have been shut down.

It may be called that the first unit of this thermal plant was shut down in March while the second unit was closed on July 4 and now the third unit has been closed.
It is pertinent to mention that this power plant was generating 1980 MW of electricity. After the closure of two units, the capacity of this unit was only 320 MW and now this unit has also been shut down.
With this, the power crisis in Punjab has worsened as the common man is suffering from an unprecedented power crisis.
While long cuts were taking place in residential areas, farmers too are not getting enough electricity for their farming. Though Punjab Government has made many promises in the past regarding power supply but still the general public does not see any relief.
