In a significant development, Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh steps down from his position.
Vikramaditya Singh announced his decision at a press conference held following the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Sabha election result declared on Tuesday.
Resigning from his post, Vikramaditya Singh says, "All I would like to say is that under the current circumstances, it is not correct for me to continue as a part of the government. So, I have decided that I am resigning from the Council of Ministers. I am resigning as a minister. In the time to come, I will have video consultations with my people and then decide about the future course of action..."

“Whatever has to happen in the time to come will be done with the party high command in due discussions and deliberations. I am sure that whatever decision will be taken, it will be taken in the larger interest of the organisation, of the party, and the people of this state.., “ he further added.

Vikramaditya Singh further says, "I have always respected the leadership and the CM and contributed toward running the government with due discipline. I am not appreciating myself today. But I can tell you with 100% conviction that in the last one year as a minister in the Congress Government, we have supported the government with all our strength...There were from some quarters attempts to humiliate me in my functioning as a cabinet minister...I respect the CM but there has to be coordination among the Council of Ministers...This is a breach of trust, something that has led to where we are standing today..."

Vikramaditya Singh, born in 1989, is an MLA from Shimla Rural constituency. He is the son of ex-CM late Virbhadra Singh. His mother, Pratibha Singh is the MP from Mandi. She is also the state Congress chief.

Vikramaditya Singh is a two-time MLA. He won his first election in 2017. He repeated the performance in 2023.
