PTC Web Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday paid heartfelt tributes to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on his martyrdom day at Yahiyaganj Gurdwara in Lucknow. UP CM Yogi highlighted the immense sacrifices of Sikh Gurus, particularly Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who played a crucial role in defending Sanatan Dharma and protecting the people of Kashmir from foreign invaders.

He said Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's unwavering commitment to his faith and his refusal to bow down to foreign oppressors stood as a timeless symbol of courage and sacrifice.

In his speech, UP CM Yogi mentioned that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji had saved the people of Kashmir from forced conversions when they were ordered to abandon their religion by foreign invaders. He not only defended the sanctity of Sanatan Dharma, but also gave the Kashmiri Hindus new hope and a renewed sense of faith.

The CM recalled the powerful stance of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who famously told the persecutors to first convert him before asking the Kashmiri Hindus to do so. This bold act of defiance is remembered as a pivotal moment in history, where the Guru chose to uphold his values and principles above all else, he added

CM Yogi also paid homage to Guru Nanak Dev Ji for raising his voice against the tyranny of Babur, a foreign invader, thus setting the foundation for Sikhism's rich history of standing firm against oppression. He spoke about the continuous struggle and sacrifice by Sikh Gurus that led to the formation of a resilient community, emphasising how Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s son, carried forward this legacy of valor and selflessness.

The UP Chief Minister urged the nation to remain united, highlighting the importance of preserving the unity between Hindus and Sikhs. He cautioned against efforts to create division within the community and warned against distorting history for narrow political agendas. CM Yogi stressed that the teachings of Sikh Gurus offered a powerful inspiration for today’s generation, urging them to follow the path of righteousness and selflessness for the greater good of the nation.

He also announced the celebration of 'Veer Bal Diwas' on December 26, a day to honour the sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh’s four sons.
