New Delhi, April 9: On Sunday, former MLA Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal and AIADMK leader and former Rajya Sabha member, Dr Maitreyan, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi. The induction ceremony will took place at the party's national headquarters, in the presence of senior BJP leaders.

This comes after the recent entrance of former Union minister AK Antony's son, Anil Antony, who joined the BJP on April 6, with the support of Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and V Muraleedharan. Additionally, CR Kesavan, the great-grandson of India's first Indian Governor-General, C Rajagopalachari, also resigned from Congress on February 23rd and joined the saffron party.

On Friday, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy also joined the BJP at a function organised at the party headquarters, in the presence of Union minister Prahlad Joshi, general secretary Arun Singh, and MP K Laxman. Reddy had resigned as the last chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh in 2014 to protest against the Congress party's decision to bifurcate the state.

The induction of these prominent leaders ahead of the next year's Lok Sabha Elections is a testament to the BJP's growing influence in the country.
