A few days ago, SAD leaders Dr Daljit Singh Cheema and Surjit Singh Rakhra had urged the former SGPC president to "follow the party line" and wait for the party's decision on her candidature for the post of SGPC president. However, she made it clear that she would contest the elections and had already conveyed her decision to SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The SAD had given chances to Bibi Jagir Kaur to reply to a show-cause notice issued to her and appear in person at the party headquarters, but she did not.
On Sunday, the SAD's disciplinary committee had also granted extension to former SGPC chief for replying to the notice in person by Monday noon.
