PTC News Desk: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, said on Monday that people who identify as Hindus "only talk about violence, hatred, and lies," which infuriated the Lok Sabha. Gandhi was interrupted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who stated that portraying the entire Hindu community as aggressive was a significant issue.

Union minister Amit Shah sought an apology from Rahul Gandhi following the incident, which took place during a verbal sparring match between the MPs of the ruling NDA and the opposition.

In the House, Rahul Gandhi had a poster up that showed Lord Shiva.

"The Congress's emblem is Abhayamudra...In Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism, and other Indian religions, the Abhayamudra is a gesture of fearlessness, certainty, and safety that banishes fear and bestows divine protection and happiness. All of our great men have talked about ending fear and using nonviolence. However, individuals identifying as Hindus only discuss violence, bigotry, and falsehoods.Gandhi remarked in the House, "You are not Hindus."

PM Modi raised his voice amid the clamour, criticising Gandhi's statement. "Calling the entire Hindu community violent is a very serious matter," he stated.

Amit Shah, a union minister, criticized Rahul Gandhi's statement and called for an apology.

"Those who identify as Hindus both talk and act violently, according to the Leader of the Opposition. He is unaware that millions of people proudly identify as Hindus. It is incorrect to associate violence with any faith. He ought to apologize," he murmured.
