Punjab transfers four IAS, one PCS Officer; Ludhiana, Rupnagar get new DCs
PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Government on Wednesday issued transfer orders for four IAS officers and one PCS officer, including the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Ludhiana and Rupnagar districts, with immediate effect.
Himanshu Jain, earlier serving as the DC of Rupnagar, has been appointed as the new DC of Ludhiana, replacing Jitendra Jorwal. Varjeet Walia, who was Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, will now take over as the Deputy Commissioner of Rupnagar.
The transfer of Jitendra Jorwal follows Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Ludhiana, where they attended multiple events.
Additionally, Nirmal Ouseppachan, who was serving as the additional deputy commissioner (general) in Mansa, has been reassigned as additional secretary (coordination) and officer on special duty (OSD) to the CM, replacing Simrandeep Singh. Simrandeep Singh, in turn, has been appointed as Additional Principal Secretary to the CM and Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, replacing Walia.
In another key appointment, Tarsem Chand, a PCS officer and SDM of Samana, has been transferred as Deputy Excise Commissioner (excise and distilleries) in Patiala, replacing Udaydeep Sidhu.
According to the official order issued by Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, officers who have not been assigned new postings have been directed to report to the secretary, personnel, until further orders.
