Punjab govt revokes Z plus security cover for senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia: Sources
PTC Web Desk: In a significant political move, the Punjab Government has reportedly revoked the Z plus security cover of former Cabinet minister and senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia, according to sources.
Majithia, a prominent leader from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), was granted Z plus security in the past due to his high-profile political status.
The decision has stirred political debate, with former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal condemning the move. Sukhbir Singh Badal, a key figure in the SAD, has accused the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of using dangerous political tactics. He claimed that the government was trying to undermine the Shiromani Akali Dal’s leadership through calculated actions aimed at destabilising the party’s influence in Punjab.
He further expressed concerns over the revocation of security, describing it as a part of the larger conspiracy to attack the leadership of the Akali Dal. "The Mann government has been exposed for its harmful and dangerous intentions against the Shiromani Akali Dal," he said in a statement.
