PM Modi criticises Trinamool, offers 5 assurances during Bengal rally: 'As long as I'm present...'
News Updates On Narendra Modi In Barrackpore: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at an electoral rally in West Bengal's Barrackpore. Modi, taking aim at the Trinamool Congress, which is now in power in Bengal, offered the state five assurances.
Bengal has my word on five guarantees. There will be no reservations based on religion as long as I am here. No one will be able to halt SC, ST, or OBC reservations. You would be able to perform Ram Navami Puja without anyone stopping you. The ruling of the Supreme Court regarding the Ram Temple in Ayodhya cannot be overturned.
According to Modi, it is now challenging for the average Bengali person to practice his religion. When they chant Shri Ram's name, TMC intimidates them. Jai, Lord Ram! The TMC forbids individuals from celebrating Ram Navami. The Congress opposes the Ram Mandir as well. Should we give the TMC, Congress, and Leftists complete control over the nation? Modi stated.
West Bengal, and particularly Barrackpore, have a written past, according to Modi. This territory was crucial to independence. However, the TMC, under by Mamata Banerjee, has turned it into a hub for frauds.
While scientific breakthroughs were once made in Bengal, under TMC's administration, the state as a whole has a home industry creating explosives. Bengal used to protest against illegal immigration, but now that the TMC is protecting them, they are prospering, Modi said.
"In Bengal, the TMC-Congress INDI Alliance has given in to appeasing politics. They demand a vote-jihad in opposition to Modi. They would drown Hindus in the Bhagirathi River, according to a TMC MLA. Think of their boldness. Their bravery. Who is standing by them?" Speaking in a direct assault on the state government, the prime minister stated.
Earlier, TMC MLA Humayun Kabir made contentious remarks at a Murshidabad election rally, threatening to quit politics if Hindus perished in the Bhagirathi River in two hours.
Modi claimed that the Congress party, which ruled India for many years, had disregarded the states' growth in the east.
"The Congress party's family members ruled the nation for many years after independence. They paid no attention to the states in eastern India developing. Whether it was Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, or Odisha, Congress took little action to utilize these states' potential. These states have enormous potential for economic growth in a variety of sectors, from the blue economy to natural resources," he continued.
He went on to say that 'Modi' would turn East India into Viksit Bharat's growth engine.
In the eastern states of India, we are currently building a network of roads, railroads, and waterways. This region has become more industrialized because to dedicated freight lines. "The development of West Bengal and the surrounding states will be the focus of the upcoming years," he declared.
Modi asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party would perform better in Bengal in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections than it did in 2019, when it won 18 seats. For us, West Bengal is a crucial state. Even if the states were capable, the people of eastern India only experienced poverty throughout the 50 years that the Congress was in power. These states have rich soil and mineral resources. These states provide promise for tourism as well. At the event, the Prime Minister declared, "I have chosen to make these states an engine of growth for Viksit Bharat."
The PM also had a roadshow at Barrackpore earlier.
On May 13, voting will take place for eight West Bengal Lok Sabha seats in the fourth phase of voting. Baharampur, Krishnanagar, Ranaghat, Bardhaman Purba, Burdwan-Durgapur, Asansol, Bolpur, and Birbhum are the constituencies.
The TMC secured 34 seats in the state in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, while the BJP was only able to secure 2 seats. The Congress secured four seats, while the CPI (M) secured two.
