Opposition Meet: Roadmap for Mission 2024 takes centre stage

Opposition Meet: The two-day Opposition meeting in Bengaluru is slated to begin on Monday with a speech by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

The Opposition parties are meeting for the second time to lay out a strategy to defeat the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. The meeting will be held at the Taj West End Hotel in Bengaluru on Monday and Tuesday.

The meeting on Tuesday will begin around 11 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m.

The Congress Party has gathered backing from 26 parties for the second opposition unity meeting in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Last month, Patna hosted the first opposition unity meeting.

Sonia Gandhi, the party's leader, will also be present at the meeting.

Here is the draft agenda for today's joint opposition agenda:

- Opposition parties are also planning to set a panel to sketch the alliance's shared minimum programme and communications points for the 2024 general elections in order to develop a united party programme that includes rallies, conventions, and agitation.

- They plan to discuss the process for determining seat distribution on a state-by-state basis, as well as the name of the alliance.

- The opposition parties may also discuss the issue of EVMs and make reform recommendations to the Election Commission.

- In addition, the opposition leaders established a joint secretariat for the planned alliance.
