Lok Sabha elections 2024: Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita to lead AAP campaign
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: In the absence of Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) head Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita will spearhead the party's Lok Sabha campaign in the national capital and other states. The AAP's campaign will begin on Saturday with Sunita Kejriwal's debut roadshow in support of East Delhi candidate Kuldeep Kumar.
Delhi Minister Atishi while addressing a press conference announced that Sunita will seek votes and blessings for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). "In protest of Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, his wife Sunita Kejriwal will campaign, seeking blessings for him and votes for AAP candidates. She will seek blessings for him from the people of Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, and Haryana," Atishi stated.
Sunita Kejriwal, a retired IRS officer, has been emerging from the shadows to play a larger role in the party, bolstering the AAP's campaigning, which has been hampered by the Chief Minister's arrest in March on money laundering charges.
Kejriwal will stay in judicial custody until May 7. Atishi claimed that Kejriwal was arrested to prevent him from campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections.
"I want to inform the BJP that their gamble has absolutely backfired. Common people are protesting Kejriwal's arrest around the country, including in Delhi and Punjab. "The people are unanimously saying that they will respond to Arvind Kejriwal's arrest with their votes," she went on to say
