'It's a personal favourite': Chhattisgarh CM responds to BJP's post showing him playing candy crush game

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), October 11: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who faced criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for indulging in a game of 'Candy Crush' during a meeting, on Wednesday made it clear that "the game is one of his personal favourites and he intends to continue playing it".

He took to 'X' on Wednesday to express his sentiments, saying, "I will walk on Gedi, play tops and marbles. Candy Crush is also my favourite. I have reached a decent level in that and will continue to play. Chhattisgarh knows whom to bless."

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel went on to mention how, in the past, the BJP had raised objections to his participation in activities like 'gedi,' a popular sport in Chhattisgarh where a player balances on two long poles and walks with them, as well as playing traditional games like tops and marbles.

He explained, "Earlier, the BJP had objections, questioning why I ride a cart, why I ride a bumblebee, why I play gilli danda, and why we organise the Chhattisgarh Olympics in the state?"

In response to a photograph showing him engrossed in a game of Candy Crush, Baghel said "the BJP even seems to object to his mere existence", adding, "It is the people of Chhattisgarh who decide who will stay and who will not."

Amit Malviya, the BJP IT cell head, had earlier taken a dig at Baghel, insinuating that he appeared relaxed since he believed his government wouldn't regain power. Malviya commented, "Perhaps that is why instead of focusing on the meeting related to Congress candidate selection, he thought it appropriate to play CANDY CRUSH."

Congress's Chhattisgarh incharge, Kumari Selja, announced that the Central Election Committee would meet on October 12 to finalise the list of candidates.
