Haryana Assembly elections 2024: Haryana Minister Chaudhary Ranjit Singh Chautala resigned from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's Cabinet on Thursday ahead of key Haryana Assembly elections. Ranjit Singh Chautala was upset after the BJP denied him a ticket from Rania Assembly.

In a statement, Chautala stated, "I will contest the Rania Assembly election at any cost. The BJP offered me the chance to run in the election from Dabwali, but I refused. I'll show my strength by doing a road show. I may will contest on another party's ticket or as an independent, but I will undoubtedly contest."

BJP dropped nine MLAs from its first list of 67 candidates for the upcoming Haryana elections. The BJP has fielded Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from the Ladwa seat, moving him from Karnal, and has given poll tickets to other new party members.

Earlier, BJP Ratia MLA Lakshman Napa resigned from the party's primary membership. He was also denied a ticket for the Haryana Assembly elections on October 5. Napa informed state party head Mohan Lal Badoli in a letter shortly after the BJP released its first list of 67 election candidates that he was resigning from its primary membership.
