PTC News Desk: In a closely contested battle in the Ambala Cantt Assembly seat during the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2024, independent candidate Chitra Sarwara has taken a surprising lead against BJP's senior leader and former cabinet minister Anil Vij. As of the latest reports from the Election Commission, Sarwara is leading by 671 votes after five rounds of counting, with a total of 17,000 votes cast in her favour.

Sarwara's competition is formidable, as Anil Vij has been a six-time MLA from Ambala Cantt and a prominent figure in Haryana politics. In addition to Vij, Congress candidate Parvinder Pal Pari is also in the fray for this crucial seat. The Ambala Cantt Chunav result is being closely watched as it could reshape the political landscape of the region.

Anil Vij has previously expressed his ambitions to stake a claim for the Chief Minister's post if the BJP wins a majority in the 2024 Haryana Vidhan Sabha elections. However, with Sarwara leading in the Ambala Cantt election result 2024, the race is proving to be more competitive than anticipated.

As of now, the BJP has crossed the halfway mark of 45 seats in the Haryana Assembly, with leads in 48 constituencies, while the Congress is leading in 33 seats. The ruling BJP, under the leadership of Nayab Singh Saini, is seeking a third term, while the Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congress is striving to regain power in the agriculturally significant state.

With the majority mark for the 90-member assembly set at 46 seats, the outcome of the Ambala Cantt Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2024 will be pivotal in determining the future political alignment in the state.

Stay tuned for the Ambala Cantt Election Result 2024 and updates on the BJP vs Congress showdown, as the final tallies come in for this high-stakes election.
