Haryana Assembly Elections: THIS BJP leader will contest polls against Vinesh Phogat
Haryana Assembly Elections: The BJP on Tuesday released its second list of candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections, which includes 21 new names. So far, the party has announced 87 candidates for the 90-member.
The BJP has pitted Captain Yogesh Bairagi against Olympian Vinesh Phogat, who is running for Congress in Julana.
In the first list of 67 candidates, the party put Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from Karnal for the Ladwa seat. Saini was Kurukshetra MP from 2019 until 2024. Prominent leaders from the Badli constituency have been fielded, including former state BJP president Om Prakash Dhankar, who is now a party national secretary. Another crucial figure, veteran party leader and former state minister Anil Vij is planning to run from his traditional bastion of Ambala Cantt.
Several political heavyweights who recently switched allegiances to the BJP have received seats.
Devender Singh Babli, ex-Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) member, will run from Tohana.
Shruti Choudhry, granddaughter of former Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal, will contest from Tosham.
Aarti Singh Rao, Rao Inderjit Singh's daughter, has received the Ateli seat.
