Haryana Assembly elections 2024: Voting ends; all focus now shifted to exit poll predictions | Who's winning in Haryana?

PTC Web Desk: The Haryana Assembly elections for 2024 have concluded, featuring a competitive landscape with major parties such as the BJP, Congress, INLD-BSP alliance, JJP-Azad Samaj Party alliance, and the Aam Aadmi Party vying for seats.

Notable candidates in the election included Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, BJP leaders Anil Vij and OP Dhankar, Congress leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Vinesh Phogat, INLD’s Abhay Singh Chautala, and JJP’s Dushyant Chautala. A total of 1,031 candidates, including 101 women and 464 independents, participated in the electoral process. Voting concluded at 6 pm, with the counting of votes set for October 8.


In remarks concerning the election, Haryana Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad said, "I consider incidents significant only if they affect the voting process. We have heard about a few minor incidents, and the administration is monitoring them. However, no major incidents have occurred, and the voting procedures remain unaffected. The people of Haryana are now more aware. I also thank the Election Commission for its systematic conduct of elections, which is renowned worldwide."

As of 5:30 pm, the Election Commission reported an approximate voter turnout of 63%, indicating active participation from the electorate.




Haryana exit poll 2024 results show easy win for Congress

Initial exit polls released on Saturday indicate a potential Congress landslide victory in Haryana, with projections suggesting the party could secure approximately 57 seats. The BJP is anticipated to win around 14 seats, while the INLD is expected to garner 4 seats and other parties around 15 seats.

According to the pollster Matrize, the Congress is forecasted to win between 55 and 62 seats, the BJP between 18 and 24, the INLD between 3 and 6, the JJP between 0 and 3, and other parties between 2 and 5 seats.

Meanwhile, Peoples Pulse predicts that Congress will achieve around 49 to 61 seats, the BJP between 20 and 32, the INLD between 2 and 3, the JJP between 0 and 1, and other parties between 3 and 5 seats.
