Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: 36.7% voter turnout recorded till 1 pm

Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: 36.7% voter turnout recorded till 1 pm

Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: Haryana reported 36.7% voter turnout at 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to ECI data.

Earlier at 9 am, Jind witnessed the highest turnout at 12.71%, followed by Palwal at 12.45%, Ambala at 11.87%, Fatehabad at 11.81%, and Mahendragarh at 11.51% by 9 AM.


The ongoing voting will decide the fate of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and Vinesh Phogat of the Congress, JJP's Dushyant Chautala and over 1,000 other candidates.

Polling began at 7 a.m. on Saturday, with the vote count scheduled for October 8. 

Haryana has established 20,629 polling booths for smooth voting.

The election campaign ended on Thursday with both BJP and Congress leaders expressing confidence in securing victory. The Haryana Assembly has 90 seats, and while the main battle is between BJP and Congress, smaller players like AAP, the INLD-BSP alliance, and JJP-ASP (Kanshi Ram) are expected to play a significant role in determining the outcome in around 20 seats. Their influence could be crucial in shaping the state’s political landscape.
