PTC Web Desk: Dr Manmohan Singh, India's former Prime Minister, was cremated on Saturday at Delhi's Nigam Bodh Ghat. The solemn ceremony was attended by President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and several other dignitaries, alongside his family members. Daman Singh: The second daughter, is a writer who authored 'Strictly Personal', a biography of her parents, and 'The Last Frontier: People and Forests in Mizoram'. She is married to Ashok Patnaik, a former CEO of NATGRID.
Amrit Singh: The youngest, is a US.-based human rights lawyer and law professor at Stanford Law School. A graduate of Yale Law School, Oxford, and Cambridge, she has been a vocal advocate for global human rights.
Manmohan Singh's legacy
Serving as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, Dr. Singh left an indelible mark on India's history. His leadership during economic reforms and crises, along with initiatives like the Right to Information Act and the India-US civil nuclear agreement, modernised the nation's economy.
Dr Singh's humility and dedication earned him widespread respect. Despite criticism from political opponents, his iconic quote, "History will be kinder to me than the contemporary media," resonates deeply with his admirers.
