Congress suspends Patiala MP Preneet Kaur for 'anti-party' activities to help BJP
Patiala, February 3: Amid charges of 'anti-party' activities, Patiala MP and former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's wife Preneet Kaur has been suspended from the Congress with immediate effect.
The decision has been taken by the Disciplinary Action Committee of the Congress as Patiala MP Preneet Kaur was allegedly indulging in "anti-party" activities to help the BJP.
In a letter issued by the All-India Congress Committee general secretary Tariq Anwar, Preneet Kaur has been asked to respond within three days regarding the allegations of anti-party activities to help the BJP. She is likely to be expelled from the party if no response is received with the given time frame.
Notably, the Congress president received a complaint against MP Preneet Kaur from PPCC chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring with regard to her alleged involvement in anti-party activities and helping the BJP.
On the basis of the complaint, Preneet Kaur has been suspended with immediate effect and asked her to show cause within three days why she should not be expelled from the party.
