Champai Soren criticises Hemant Soren government for allowing Bangladeshi intrusion and ignoring tribal rights
PTC News Desk: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and senior leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Champai Soren, has voiced serious concerns over the increasing issue of Bangladeshi infiltration in Jharkhand.
In a recent letter, Soren expressed his dissatisfaction with the current Hemant Soren government and other political parties, accusing the state government of neglecting critical issues related to tribal identity and security. He emphasised that these concerns are being overlooked, putting the cultural and social fabric of Jharkhand's tribal communities at risk.

Champai Soren believes that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, is genuinely committed to addressing these concerns. He argues that the BJP’s leadership has demonstrated a clear stance on national security and the protection of indigenous rights, which he feels is lacking in the current state administration. Due to these reasons, Soren has decided to join the BJP, aligning himself with a party he believes is better equipped to safeguard the interests of Jharkhand's indigenous communities.

These issues have also been underscored by recent observations from the Jharkhand High Court, particularly concerning the Santhal Pargana region. The court, while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Daniel Danish, highlighted two major concerns: the infiltration of Bangladeshi nationals into Jharkhand and the decline in the tribal population within the state. The High Court’s scrutiny raises serious questions about the governance and administrative efficiency under the Hemant Soren-led government.
During the hearings, affidavits submitted by the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police from six districts in the Santhal Pargana region were found to lack detailed information. This lack of clarity and substance in the affidavits prompted the court to question the adequacy and effectiveness of the state government’s response to these pressing issues. The court's observations point towards not only administrative lapses but also a potential disregard for the socio-political and security implications these problems pose for Jharkhand.
The absence of decisive action and a comprehensive response to these challenges by the Hemant Soren government has further fueled criticism from various quarters, including political leaders like Champai Soren, who now advocate for stronger measures and more robust governance to protect the state's indigenous populations and maintain its territorial integrity.
