PTC News Desk: Ghulam Ahmed Mir, AICC General Secretary and Jharkhand in-charge, created controversy on Thursday during an election rally by claiming that if the party comes to power, every resident of the state will be provided with gas cylinders at Rs 450, whether they are 'infiltrators or not'.

Addressing an election rally in the Chandrapura district of the Bermo constituency, Ghulam Ahmed Mir stated, "We have promised that if our government is formed, we will provide gas cylinders at Rs 450 beginning December 1. This will be for the general people... whether Hindu, Muslim, or infiltrators—it will be offered to all citizens of Jharkhand, with no other variables considered."

The BJP has fiercely objected to Congress' promise, stating that it is "anti-national" and reflects the party's appeasement and polarisation policy. This allegation comes as BJP leaders accuse the JMM-led alliance of protecting infiltrators in the state for "vote bank politics."

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "Congress's Ghulam Ahmed Mir has stated that gas cylinders will be provided to infiltrators for Rs 450. The Congress-JMM-RJD government is sheltering infiltrators in Jharkhand."

During an election rally in the Birni area of Giridih district, he claimed that lakhs of infiltrators had entered Jharkhand and that the government had assisted them in obtaining voter and ration cards. At another event in Bokaro, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated, "The Congress in charge has promised to provide cylinders to Hindus, Muslims, and infiltrators. The BJP would not allow infiltrators to take over indigenous rights."

The second phase of voting will be held on November 20. The first phase was held on Wednesday, and the votes will be counted on November 23.
