Arvind Kejriwal’s convoy 'attacked' during campaign; AAP accuses BJP of orchestrating incident
PTC Web Desk: AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s convoy was allegedly attacked during a door-to-door campaign in the New Delhi Assembly constituency on Saturday. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the BJP of orchestrating the incident, claiming that a stone was hurled at Kejriwal’s car.
AAP released video footage purportedly showing the attack, asserting that the stone was part of a coordinated effort to disrupt their campaign. Black flags were also waved at the convoy. "BJP candidate Parvesh Verma's supporters attacked Arvind Kejriwal with stones to derail his campaign. Such cowardly tactics will not deter Kejriwal ji, and Delhi’s people will respond appropriately,” AAP stated on social media platform X.

In a counter-claim, BJP MP Parvesh Verma alleged that Arvind Kejriwal’s vehicle ran over two persons during the campaign. “When questioned by locals, Kejriwal’s car struck two young men. Both were taken to Lady Hardinge Hospital. This shows his disregard for people’s lives in the face of electoral pressure,” Verma wrote on X, sharing a video of the alleged incident.

The New Delhi constituency, a high-stakes battleground for the February 5 Assembly elections, sees Kejriwal, a former Chief Minister, seeking re-election. The Congress has fielded Sandeep Dikshit, son of the late Sheila Dikshit, while BJP’s candidate, Parvesh Verma, is the son of former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma.
