After 2 failed attempts, Delhi Mayor polls on February 6
Delhi Mayor polls: After two failed attempts last month and a tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP, Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena on Wednesday approved convening of Municipal Corporation of Delhi House session to elect Mayor on February 6, as per a communique issued by Raj Niwas officials, adding that the date had been proposed by the Delhi Government.
Delhi LG has approved 6th February, as proposed by Deputy CM and CM for holding the adjourned first meeting of the MCD and asked for the election of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and the 6-Member Standing Committee to be held.

Notably, the Delhi Mayor could not be elected on January 6 and 24 due to a tussle between AAP and BJP leaders.

However, Shelly Oberoi, AAP candidate for Mayor post, moved the Supreme Court demanding the election soon.
