AAP to go solo in Delhi Assembly elections, says 'capable of fighting overconfident Congress'

PTC News Desk: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest upcoming Delhi assembly elections alone against a "overconfident" Congress and a "arrogant" BJP, a party spokesperson said on Wednesday. This comes a day after the grand old party's surprise setback in the Haryana elections.

"In Delhi, the AAP will contest alone. We are capable of fighting the overconfident Congress and arrogant BJP alone," AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar stated.

She accused the Congress of undervaluing coalition partners, citing the party's results in recent Haryana elections as an example of its overconfidence.

"The Congress has had zero seats in the Delhi assembly for the past 10 years, yet AAP gave Congress three seats in the Lok Sabha polls; still they did not feel necessary to take allies along in Haryana," she added.

Kakkar alleged that Congress prevented the INDIA bloc's efforts to form an alliance in Haryana and "didn't feel it necessary to take its ally along with them." The AAP and the Congress had fought collectively in Haryana's Lok Sabha Elections, with the grand old party winning five of the 10 seats.

The remarks follow the BJP's strong victory in Haryana, where the ruling party clinched its third consecutive term with 48 seats, while the Congress won 37 seats. The AAP failed to win any seats in Haryana while contesting alone.
