Haryana Assembly elections 2024: The Aam Aadmi Party released its first list of 20 candidates for key Haryana Assembly elections.

The AAP is in talks with the Congress about forming an alliance, but negotiations have stalled over the number of seats to be given to the party. AAP allegedly wants to fight at least ten of the state's 90 Assembly seats, while the Congress is only willing to concede seven.

Following the release of the first list of 20 candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections, AAP Haryana head Sushil Gupta stated, "...We released the first list, and you will get the second list soon. There is very little time left for the elections. We waited honestly (for the alliance) since the organization was powerful in each assembly and wanted us to run in the elections. We showed patience and then issued our list... We were members of the INDIA Alliance. We are a national-level partner of the INDIA Alliance."

Earlier, in the day AAP Haryana announced that it would release a full list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections if an alliance with the Congress was not finalised by the end of the day. Haryana is set to vote for its 90 assembly seats on October 5.

Sushil Gupta, the AAP Haryana state chief, expressed that the party is ready to release its list of candidates for all seats by Monday evening. He noted that while no final word had been received from the party leadership on an alliance with the Congress, they were preparing to move forward independently if necessary.
