PM Modi to hold virtual Covid review meeting with CMs
New Delhi, April 27: In light of the recent increase in Covid-19 cases in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with Chief Ministers via video conferencing on Wednesday to assess the situation. The virtual meeting will take place on Wednesday at 12 p.m., according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). The meeting is scheduled to be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and officials from their respective Ministries, in addition to the Prime Minister and senior officials from the Prime Minister's Office. According to reports, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan will make a presentation on the current state of Covid, the extent of vaccination, especially the booster drive, and the trajectory of cases in specific states. PM Modi has already met with Chief Ministers and even District Magistrates to better understand the situation on the ground. According to a Ministry of Health and Family Welfare bulletin issued on Tuesday, the active caseload is 15,636, with a positive rate of 0.55 percent. On Sunday's Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast, Prime Minister Modi encouraged people to stay alert for Covid-19 during the festive season. To keep Covid at bay, he urged people to wear masks and wash their hands at regular intervals. Meanwhile, in a tweet, Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya stated that more than 86% of the adult population is now fully vaccinated.
