PM Modi interacts with CWG 2022 medal winners at his residence
New Delhi, August 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with all the medalists at the Commonwealth Games 2022 at his official residence.
After their outstanding performance in Birmingham, the Prime Minister met the Commonwealth Games champions in person for the first time. "Looking forward to interacting with India's CWG 2022 contingent at my residence, 13th August at 11 AM. The entire nation is proud of the accomplishments of our athletes at the games," the Prime Minister tweeted earlier.
Every athlete who won a medal for the nation has already received kudos from PM Modi. After Indian athletes won medals at the tournament, the Prime Minister congratulated them on his official Twitter account. PM Modi also sent well wishes to those who failed to finish on the podium.

Nearly 200 Indian athletes competed for medals across 16 different sports at the Commonwealth Games 2022 which took place from July 28 to August 8 in Birmingham.
India finished the 2022 Commonwealth Games in fourth place with 61 medals (22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze). With 12 medals, including six gold, wrestling took first place on the list, followed by weightlifting with 10 medals.
Moreover, India has also delivered its fourth-best performance ever at the Commonwealth Games, with their best coming in 2010 when the tournament was held at home and Indian athletes won a total of 101 medals.
The magnificent closing ceremony for the Commonwealth Games 2022 took place on Monday at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.
The Governor of Victoria received the Commonwealth Games flag. In 2026, the Commonwealth Games will be held in the Australian state of Victoria.
