Petrol price in Delhi reaches all-time high; check latest prices in other states
Petrol and Diesel price in Delhi: The petrol and diesel prices hit new record highs on Friday after the oil marketing companies kept rates unchanged for two consecutive days.
The petrol prices in Delhi has increased by 25 paise per litre to Rs 85.45 from Rs 85.20 per litre while diesel prices have also hiked by 25 paise to Rs 75.63 from Rs 75.38 per litre according to data available in Indian Oil Corporation.

In Mumbai, the diesel prices skyrocketed to Rs 91.80 per litre, thus recording a new record high.
The highest ever price of Rs 84 per litre for petrol in Delhi was reported on October 4, 2018, while diesel had increased to an all-time high of Rs 75.45 a litre on October 4, 2018.

Meanwhile, the petrol price has increased by Rs 14.28 per litre and diesel by Rs 11.83 a litre since May 2020.

Amid fuel price hike, the central government is considering a cut in excise duty. The Ministry of petroleum and natural gas has already written to the finance ministry, suggesting a cut in the duty.
