One MLA in his handwriting proposed an addition/amendment about Late Rajiv Gandhi. Earlier the Delhi Assembly has passed a resolution demanding that Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s Bharat Ratna should be withdrawn. The decision was taken over the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. AAP MLA Jarnail Singh passed the resolution in the Assembly and was passed by a voice vote. The resolution further states that the Delhi Government should strongly communicate to the Union Home Ministry (MHA) in writing that justice continues to elude the families and near-dear ones of the victims of the worst "genocide" in the history of India's national capital. Following which he quit the party. After the assassination of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi took over the party and the government. He was awarded Bharat Ratna posthumously in the year 1991. Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award in the country.
