Earlier the Delhi Assembly has passed a resolution demanding that Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s Bharat Ratna should be withdrawn. The decision was taken over the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. AAP MLA Jarnail Singh passed the resolution in the Assembly and was passed by a voice vote. The resolution further states that the Delhi Government should strongly communicate to the Union Home Ministry (MHA) in writing that justice continues to elude the families and near-dear ones of the victims of the worst "genocide" in the history of India's national capital.
