Pakistan's popular TV host Amir Liaquat dies under mysterious circumstances
Karachi (Pakistan), June 9: Pakistan's former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and popular television host Amir Liaquat passed away in Karachi under mysterious circumstances, according to media reports.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader was found unconscious at his residence in Khudad Colony and was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition.
As per the local media reports, Liaquat felt discomfort on Wednesday night. He, however, refused to go to the hospital, reported Geo TV.
A scream was heard from Liaquat's room Thursday morning, according to Javed, Liaquat's employee. The door to the room was locked from the inside. When no one answered the phone, his domestic staff busted down the door to his room. Later, doctors declared Liaquat was brought dead.
The police have initiated an investigation into Amir Liaquat's death and have also searched his home in Karachi's Khudadad Colony.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East, the police will also obtain CCTV footage to gather and ascertain the facts which led to the death of the PTI leader. Police examined Liaquat's house and everything was in place, he added.
Owing to Liaquat's death under mysterious circumstances, the authorities have decided to conduct a post-mortem.
The police cordoned off his bedroom after collecting evidence and stated that the family's permission has been acquired for an autopsy after which a report will be prepared on the cause of death.
