ONGC chopper carrying 9 makes emergency landing in Arabian Sea, 6 rescued

Mumbai, June 28: A chopper carrying seven passengers and two pilots made an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday, near Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) rig Sagar Kiran in Mumbai High, the company said. A total of six persons have been rescued so far and efforts are to rescue the others, ONGC said. Till now six persons have been rescued and the operations are still on. The Coast Guard has diverted two ships towards the site for the rescue operation. One Dornier aircraft, which took off from Daman dropped one life raft in the area, official sources said. The site of the mishap is located 7 nautical miles inside the Arabian sea from Mumbai.
