Punjab Assembly elections 2022: Om Parkash Soni is an Indian politician and the current Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab who belongs to the Indian National Congress. Om Prakash Soni is an MLA from Amritsar Central. He is also Punjab's Health Minister. He was born on July 3, 1957, in village Bhilowal Pakka in the Amritsar district of Punjab. In March 2017, he was elected from Amritsar Central assembly constituency by defeating its nearest opponent Tarun Chugh of BJP with a margin of 21,116 votes. In April 2018, he was made a cabinet minister of Punjab and given charge of the School Education department.
