No ban on old mandis by govt in new farm laws: PM Modi
Speaking on agriculture laws in the Lok Sabha today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that three agriculture laws were introduced during the Corona pandemic. This series of agricultural reforms is very important. "Our agriculture sector has been facing challenges for years. We have tried to overcome them," he said.

"I could see that the Congress allies here were discussing the color of the law, Black or white. " he said.
Adding, that it would have been better if the content of agricultural laws could be discussed so that the right thing could reach the farmers of the country. He said that Agriculture Minister Mr. Narinder Singh Tomar has been talking to the farmers and if anything was to be rectified, govt is ready for it.
Prime Minister Modi said that in a democracy, demand does not work. Some changes are needed for the society.
Congress MPs walked out of the Lok Sabha during Prime Minister Modi's speech. Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha have called for the repeal of the agriculture laws. He said that some laws are necessary for the progress of the country.
PM Modi said in the Lok Sabha that he respects the sentiments of the farmers who are agitating. Adding that after the implementation of the law, no market would be closed and no MSP would be closed. The old mandis have not been banned by the government.
We are ready to listen to every suggestion of the farmers. The new agriculture law is not binding on anyone. If there is a need to change the agricultural laws, we will do so. I am ready to discuss every point of the law.

In response to the address to Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha, the Congress created a commotion in Parliament.
Meanwhile, PM Modi said that procurement on MSPs has increased since the law came into force. He said that the commotion was being carried out under a well thought out strategy. PM Modi said that agricultural laws have been framed for the benefit of all the farmers.
"I am amazed that a new argument has come up in the House as to why it has come," Modi said.
Adding, "Fear of what is not going to happen has been spread,". Farmers should state what rights have been taken away from them. Prime Minister Modi said that with the changing times, such decisions have to be taken for the foreseeable future.
