Nitish Kumar's helicopter makes emergency landing in Bihar's Gaya
Gaya (Bihar), August 19: The helicopter carrying Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday made an emergency landing in Gaya due to bad weather conditions.
According to reports, the Chief Minister was on an ariel survey of drought-hit areas in the state at around 11.30 am. Following this monsoon's rainfall deficit, some districts in Bihar are experiencing drought-like conditions.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kumar reviewed the situation in the state as a result of insufficient rainfall and took detailed information from the officials about the possible drought situation.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed that a careful eye be kept on the situation that arose as a result of the inadequate rainfall.
The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) directed that after conducting a block-by-block review of the situation, develop a strategy to provide farmers with all possible help in the case of a probable drought.
