Navjot Sidhu shares his 'Punjab model' with Bhagwant Mann to improve state's fiscal health
Chandigarh, May 9: In a major political development in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday met former state Congress head Navjot Singh Sidhu. Earlier on Sunday, the cricketer-turned-politician tweeted, “Will meet CM @BhagwantMann tomorrow at 5.15 pm in Chandigarh to discuss matters regarding the revival of Punjab’s economy… Punjab’s resurrection is only possible with an honest collective effort….” During the 50-minute long meeting, Navjot Sidhu discussed his Punjab model with CM Bhagwant Mann and gave several suggestions to revive Punjab's economy. Following the meeting, the Congress leader stated that he received a positive response from CM Bhagwant Mann, who listen to all his suggestions. The Congress leader also made suggestions for removing the liquor mafia from Punjab. Two leaders also spoke about law and order, financial emergency, drug problems and the nexus between drug smugglers and the police. Sidhu gave CM Bhagwant Mann suggestions related to the cancellation of power purchase agreements which will apparently enable people to get cheap electricity, and breaking the monopoly over cable. Applauding the Punjab Chief Minister, Sidhu said that Bhagwant is a humble Mann and that he has high expectations from him (Bhagwant Mann). The Congress leader also slammed the CMs of his own party, saying that no one paid heed to his suggestions to solve people's issues.
