Zomato CEO reveals Gurugram Mall stopped him from using main entrance, lift while collecting order as delivery man
PTC News Desk: Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has claimed that a mall in Gurugram stopped him from using the lift as he was picking up food orders as a delivery executive.
Goyal, who, along with his wife Grecia Munoz, took on the role of delivery partner to gain firsthand experience with their issues, claims he was asked to climb the stairs when he went to the Ambience Mall to pick up an order.

"During my second order, I realised that we need to work with malls more closely to improve working conditions for all delivery partners. And malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners," he posted on X. He also shared a video elaborating upon his experience in a Zomato delivery agent uniform.
"We went to Ambience Mall in Gurugram to pick up our Haldiram's order. I was told to use the other entrance and realised they were telling me to take the stairs. I went in again at the main entrance to make sure there were no lifts for delivery partners', he explained.
Goyal claimed he went the stairs to the third floor and found that delivery partners are unable to enter the mall and must wait at stairs to receive orders.
"Chilled with my fellow delivery partners while also getting valuable feedback from them," the Zomato CEO stated, adding that he was finally able to slip in to collect the order when the staircase guard "took a small break".
Many users responded to his post, stating that not only malls but also various societies, do not allow delivery partners to use the main lift.
