Winter holidays announced for all Haryana schools | Check Dates
PTC Web Desk: Haryana has announced winter holidays for all schools in the state, which will be observed from January 1 to January 15. Schools will reopen on January 16. The Directorate of School Education has issued the official notification regarding the holidays, which had already been mentioned by the state's Education Minister, Mahipal Dhanda.
The order also specifies that during these holidays, students in Classes 10 and 12 grades may be called to school for practical sessions according to the schedules set by CBSE, ICSE, and other boards. This directive applies to both government and private schools.
The order has been communicated to district education officers, district basic education officers, block education officers, and school principals across the state. In addition, the government has adjusted the timings for all government and private Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Women’s ITIs, citing the extreme fog and cold during December and January. From January 1 to January 31, these institutes will operate from 10 am to 4 pm without any break.
Last year, Haryana extended winter holidays for schools due to severe cold, with holidays for students up to Class 3 extended until January 20. For classes 4 and 5, the decision was left to the District Commissioners. However, students from Classes 6 to 12 were required to return to school by January 16.
