Why Vistara passengers facing flight delays and cancellations?
PTC Web Desk: Vistara, jointly owned by Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, faced a series of flight delays and cancellations in recent days, the airline stated on Monday. Acknowledging the disruptions, the spokesperson assured that the airline is actively addressing the operational challenges to restore normalcy.
"We regret the inconvenience caused to our esteemed passengers due to several flight cancellations and unavoidable delays encountered in the past few days due to various operational reasons," stated the Vistara spokesperson. "Our dedicated teams are diligently working towards stabilising the situation," the spokesperson added.
Yes, too many complaints. Can @vistara be more honest and tell its customers what is wrong, how long, cut flights with notice, and restore credibility? Too much of lies now. People trust vistaar, getting damaged, @JM_Scindia https://t.co/ofxPIsjGkS — Mohandas Pai (@TVMohandasPai) April 1, 2024
Frustrated passengers expressed their grievances online, highlighting the extended delays. One passenger, Vignesh Murali, tweeted, "#Vistara #UK827 Bombay to Chennai delayed more than 5 hours and no confirmation yet. Absolutely pathetic." Another user, Swaying Sayings, speculated about the cause, mentioning possible shortages of pilots or crew.
Another Vistara flight delayed by an hour! ????????♂️. They have really adopted the Air India culture well. — Anshu Mor (@anshuMor) March 30, 2024
Responding to the mounting complaints, TV Mohandas Pai, Chairman of Aarin Capital Partners, urged Vistara to be transparent about the issues, provide timely updates, and restore credibility. Historian Vikram Sampath also voiced his dissatisfaction after his flight was abruptly canceled, criticizing Vistara's handling of the situation.
Earlier in March, Vistara faced operational challenges at Delhi and Mumbai airports, primarily due to pilot shortages. The airline, which is undergoing a merger with Air India following its privatisation and Singapore Airlines' acquisition of a 25.1% stake, continues to navigate through these operational hurdles.
