Know all about Princess Diya Kumari: In the recent election results of 2023, Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate and Rajsamand MP, Diya Kumari, emerged victorious in Rajasthan's Vidhyadhar Nagar assembly seat, triumphing over Congress' Sitaram Agarwal by a substantial margin of 71,368 votes.

Expressing gratitude, she attributed the success of the saffron party in the assembly elections across Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's influence.

"The credit for this victory goes to PM Modi, Amit Shah ji, JP Nadda ji, state leaders, and our dedicated party workers. Modi ji's impact resonated not just in Rajasthan but also in MP & Chhattisgarh..." stated the Lok Sabha MP from Rajsamand. As a member of the Jaipur royal family, Diya Kumari clinched the Vidhyadhar Nagar assembly constituency by a significant margin. She further affirmed the party's commitment to ensuring effective governance and development for the people of the state.

"Our priority is to ensure exemplary governance and drive development initiatives in the state. Upholding law and order will be a top priority. The decision regarding the Chief Minister will be made by the party's top leadership," Kumari affirmed.

Who is Diya Kumari?

Diya Kumari, granddaughter of Man Singh II, the former ruling maharaja of Jaipur, made her foray into politics by joining the BJP back in 2013. Her political journey gained momentum when she secured a seat in the Rajasthan assembly during the 2013 elections from Sawai Madhopur, triumphing over Kirodi Lal Meena.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, she made a significant impact by securing a victory in the Rajsamand constituency, winning by a substantial margin of 5.51 lakh votes, thereby entering the Parliament. Her campaign emphasised her connection as a "daughter of Jaipur" and portrayed her as the "princess who walks amongst the people."

The recent trends reported by the Election Commission pointed towards the BJP leading in three out of four states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, where the Congress currently holds power. As per the Election Commission's data, BJP candidates were on the forefront in Rajasthan, leading in 114 seats, while the Congress trailed with 71 seats. Similarly, in Chhattisgarh, the BJP appeared to be making headway, leading in 53 out of the 90 assembly seats, with the Congress ahead in 34 seats.

In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP was in a dominant position, leading in 161 out of the 230 seats, while the Congress was ahead in 66 seats. Additionally, in Telangana, the Congress seemed to be on the brink of ousting the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS government, potentially securing power in another southern state following Karnataka.

The outcome of these state assembly elections is anticipated to reflect the sentiments of the electorate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi eyes for a third consecutive term. Modi actively engaged in rallies and campaigned extensively in the five poll-bound states to garner support for his party's candidates.
