West Bengal horror continues: Nurse molested by patient during late night shift
PTC News Desk: As protests continue over the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor, another disturbing incident of molestation has come to light at a Bengal hospital. On Saturday night, a nurse at the Ilambazar Health Centre in Birbhum was allegedly assaulted by a patient while on duty.
The accused, who was taken to the health centre for treatment, allegedly touched the nurse inappropriately while she administered saline.
The nurse claimed that the patient assaulted her while she was attending to him in the emergency department. The accused was accompanied by family members during the incident.
"The male patient misbehaved with me and inappropriately touched my private parts while I was simply following the doctor's directions. He also verbally abused me," the nurse added, detailing her ordeal.
"Such instances happen because of a lack of security. Otherwise, how can a patient dare to do such a thing to someone on duty in front of his family members who do nothing to stop him?"
The incident raised tensions at the health centre, causing hospital officials to call the police. Officers cameton the scene and arrested the accused.
