PTC News Desk: Delhi and its neighboring regions, including Noida, experienced a welcome respite from the dry spell as they were greeted with a fresh bout of rainfall during the early hours of Sunday. The precipitation was particularly notable in various parts of Delhi such as Mandi House, RK Puram, Indraprastha, Kartavya Path, Central Delhi, Raisina Road, Parliament Street area, and Pant Marg.

The onset of rain was accompanied by a shift in weather dynamics, leading to overcast skies and a slight drop in temperature across the region.

This recent rainfall follows a similar weather pattern observed on Saturday morning, wherein parts of Delhi, including Greater Kailash, India Gate, RK Puram, and Janpath, experienced strong winds and showers. Such weather conditions have been attributed to the fluctuating climatic patterns prevalent in the area.

Moreover, the precipitation has had a positive impact on the air quality in the national capital. Delhi witnessed its best Air Quality Index (AQI) in 137 days, thanks to the strong and gusty surface winds sweeping through the region at speeds ranging from 40 to 50 km/hour. These winds acted as natural filters, effectively reducing pollutant levels in the atmosphere. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi recorded a 24-hour average AQI reading of 117 (moderate) at 4 pm on Saturday. This marked a significant improvement since October 17, 2023, when the AQI stood at 89 (satisfactory).

With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting further rainfall in the region, residents can anticipate continued relief from the prevailing dry conditions. As the weather remains unpredictable, it's advisable for individuals to stay updated with the latest forecasts and take necessary precautions to ensure their well-being during inclement weather.
