'War rooms at airports': Centre announces 6-point action plan amid flight disruptions due to fog
PTC News Desk: Amid the flight disruptions caused due to dense fog and bad weather, Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday announced a six-point action plan to combat the issue.
Notably, bad weather disrupted hundreds of domestic and international commercial flight operations, resulting in delays or cancellations.
Scindia took to X, formerly Twitter, and stated new SOPs, or standard operating procedures, issued to airlines to "mitigate passenger inconvenience"
Furthermore, the Union Minister stated that the centre had daily reports from all six metro airports, as well as reports on the implementation of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation directives.

"'War rooms' will be set up by airports and airline operators at all six metros to address any issues with regard to passenger inconvenience with immediacy," he said.
"Sufficient CISF (Central Industrial Security Force, which handles security at airports) manpower will be ensured round-the-clock."

Implementation of the @DGCAIndia Directives, SOPs and CARs will be monitored and reported regularly
Operationalization of RWY 10/28 as CAT III at Delhi Airport after re-carpeting will also be undertaken.
