'Kal Ho Na Ho': Vistara operates final flight as it merges with Air India; Passengers bid adieu
Vistara will be operating its last flight under its own brand on November 11 as it is all set to merge with Air India. Marking the integrated service under the Air India banner, Vistara's operations will be unified with the Tata group's Air India.
Vistara Airlines is joint venture between the Tata Group and Singapore airlines. The merger with Air India was announced in November 2022 and the airline has been slowly phasing out its bookings till its final day of operations under its own brand.
Following the merger, Singapore Airlines will hold 25.1 percent stake in the Unified Air India with solidifying its presence in Indian aviation industry.
“Cross-functional teams from Air India and Vistara have been working together for many months to make the transition of aircraft, flying crew, ground-based colleagues and, most importantly, our valued customers, into the new Air India as seamless as possible,” Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson had said earlier.
Many passengers bid adieu to Vistara describing the airline as one of the finest domestic airline. Crew members were also seen nostalgic during the last fay of operations and in a very much 'Vistara style' played ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ upon landing, as shared by a traveler.
