PTC Web Desk: A Vistara flight from Frankfurt to Mumbai received a security threat on social media, prompting precautionary measures, according to an airline spokesperson. After landing safely at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the aircraft was directed to an isolation bay for inspection. This marks the 13th incident of fake bomb threats targeting Indian flights in just four days.

Affected airlines include Air India, IndiGo, and Akasa Air. The Vistara spokesperson confirmed that all passengers and crew on flight UK 028 were unharmed and that "all relevant authorities were immediately informed." The airline emphasised its commitment to passenger safety, stating, "At Vistara, the safety and security of our customers, crew, and aircraft is of the utmost importance."

On the same day, two other flights—one from Akasa Air and another from IndiGo—also received bomb threats, which later proved to be hoaxes. The day prior, seven Indian flights faced similar threats, leading to emergency landings for at least two of them. On Monday, three international flights departing from Mumbai were impacted by similar warnings, with one being diverted to Delhi.

In response to the recent surge in security threats, the Indian government is considering several measures, such as placing hoax callers on a 'no-fly list' and increasing the presence of air marshals on flights. Officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, and the Ministry of Home Affairs convened to address the situation. Efforts are underway to collaborate with law enforcement to identify the sources of the false threats and update the 'no-fly list' accordingly.
