Viral video shows two trains arriving on same track, railway issues clarification
Viral Video: After a video showing two trains arriving on the same track went viral on social media, the railways issued a clarification, saying it was a normal signalling process.
A recent viral video claims that a major train accident was averted in Chhattisgarh when a passenger train and a goods train arrived on the same railway track.
Reports stated that a collision between the two trains was avoided as they stopped at a distance from each other. Several passengers got off the train after the incident to observe the situation.
Clarifying, the railways said that what was shown in the video was a normal signalling process and there was nothing abnormal about it.
"The incident shown in the video has happened in Auto section between BSP -GTW on 10.06.23 evening. Good train No. D/ nbox (Electric light engine rear) was standing at GTW HOME SIGNAL from 17.30 hrs to 18.00 hrs due to other train N/GTW was admitting from middle line to line no. 7 at GTW yard," Railways said.
"In the mean time when D/NBOX was standing at Home Signla, KRBA local 08746 arrived at Auto Singh 2OHE masts behind the goods train. Unknown public took the video and publicised it as an abnormality," it added.
At least 288 people were killed and more than 1,000 more were injured in the collision on June 2 at the Bahanaga Bazar station in the Balasore district of Odisha. The train accident in India was the deadliest in 20 years.
