PTC News Desk: Mumbai Police have arrested a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur who threatened Bollywood actor Salman Khan using the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore.

The Mumbai Police opened a case against an unknown person and launched an investigation after receiving a threatening message.

"With the help of Jamshedpur's local police, a probe was conducted, and the person who delivered the message has been arrested today. He will be brought to Mumbai," the police stated.

Earlier on October 21, the Mumbai police received an apology from the same sender who threatened Khan on October 18, claiming that the message was "sent by mistake."

On October 18, an initial threat message was transmitted to the Mumbai Traffic Police's control room phone number.

A few days later, the Mumbai Traffic Police received another message from the same number, in which the person who had issued the threat apologised, stating that the message was sent by mistake.

According to Mumbai police, the person who sent the message was tracked down in Jharkhand.

The individual who sent the message claimed to be close to Lawrence Bishnoi's gang and threatened the actor's life if the extortion money was not paid.

The sender asked Salman Khan to pay Rs 5 crore to end his feud with Lawrence Bishnoi in order to survive. "If the money is not given, Salman Khan's situation will be worse than Baba Siddique's," he said.

The Worli police have filed a case in connection with the threat messages received by Mumbai traffic cops.
