Uttarakhand rains: Red alert issued in several districts for August 13-14, check details
Red Alert in Uttarakhand: Alert for all the tourists who are planning a trip to Uttarakhand this weekend as the Indian Meteorological Department issued a red alert for Uttarakhand for August 13 and August 14.
India Meteorological Department also took to their Twitter handle and wrote, "Urgent red alert issued for Uttarakhand as heavy to very heavy rainfall, reaching extremely heavy levels (more than 204.4 mm), is forecasted for August 13th and 14th. Stay safe."

Due to relentless and torrential rainfall in Uttarakhand for the last couple of days, several incidents of waterlogging, flooding , landslides has been witnessed in Uttarakhand which disrupted normal life in the state.
1. Avoid visiting hilly areas and places prone to landslides and heavy rainfall.
2. Avoid trekking amid inclement weather.
3. In case of lightning strikes, it is safe to stay indoors.
4. Avoid areas prone to water logging
5. Stay away from vulnerable structures
6. Do not visit river areas.
7. Pay attention to the warnings issued by the weather department.
In an horrific accident on Saturday morning, five pilgrims were killed after a car they were travelling in was buried under the debris of a landslide at Tarsali under Chowki Phata in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district.
The incident also led to the blocking of the Guptkashi-Gaurikund highway leading to Kedarnath Dham for traffic on Friday, said officials, while adding that about 60 metres of the road had been badly damaged and washed away.
Many districts of the state, including Rudraprayag, have been witnessing incessant rain for the last couple of days.
